[00:00:04] Welcome to The Mindy Paul Show, the podcast where we discuss mind, money, business and manifestation all in one mic.
[00:00:12] Having worked with business owners, CEOs and executives in industries from accountants, lawyers, dentists, coaches, consultants and even Hollywood producers,
[00:00:21] just to mention a few from across the globe on how to earn more and work less and attract an abundance of your dream clients.
[00:00:28] Now their circumstances may differ but my message remains the same.
[00:00:32] You've got so far doing things your way.
[00:00:34] Now if it's not working your way, why not try someone else's way that's been proven to work.
[00:00:39] So what do you say? Are you ready to give mine a shot?
[00:00:45] So this is one thing that most business owners forget when it comes to themselves.
[00:00:52] We can get into business and we spend so long working in the business, driving the business forward, burning out some of you out there.
[00:01:01] But one thing you forget about is living your life.
[00:01:04] Why did you get into business for?
[00:01:06] Was it to live a life of more comfort, luxury, choices, freedom, time?
[00:01:13] Maybe you've always dreamt of having a brand new car, a new home, a lavish home, a holiday home, a boat, whatever that is.
[00:01:21] But years go by and all that you've been doing is grinding away, working away, hoping that one day you're going to arrive at some sort of a destination.
[00:01:33] And years have gone by.
[00:01:34] You're in your business for like 10 years, 15 years, some of you.
[00:01:37] And you're no closer of experiencing any of that joy and fulfillment that you wanted.
[00:01:42] I'm talking about materialistic success.
[00:01:45] I'm talking about buying things.
[00:01:46] I'm talking about holidays experiences.
[00:01:48] You know, not denying one thing over the other, like your physical body still needs things, right?
[00:01:54] Your spiritual side.
[00:01:55] You've got to be fulfilled in all areas.
[00:01:57] And a lot of time we don't give enough importance to getting ourselves things.
[00:02:02] Experiences.
[00:02:03] I'm really big on that.
[00:02:04] I love cars.
[00:02:05] I love experiences.
[00:02:06] I love, I don't know.
[00:02:07] I wouldn't say I used to buy a lot of expensive clothes, a lot of designer stuff, but I've kind of phased out of that right now.
[00:02:13] And that's one thing I used to enjoy buying clothes, buying my kids stuff.
[00:02:17] And that's one thing that you really do want to focus on.
[00:02:20] How much money have you actually spent on yourself in the last 12 months?
[00:02:24] It's so easy to spend money on our families, right?
[00:02:26] But when it comes to spending money on ourselves, treating ourselves to that jacket that you've always wanted, that dress, the pair of shoes.
[00:02:33] Whatever that is.
[00:02:34] The jewelry, the diamond necklace that you've always wanted.
[00:02:36] But you've never done it because you're so busy thinking about everybody else.
[00:02:40] Now you are the most important person in your world.
[00:02:43] Now you might say, well no, my wife is my, but here's the thing, I get that.
[00:02:46] But without you there is no world.
[00:02:48] Your world does not exist without you.
[00:02:50] So I want you to really start to enjoy your life more.
[00:02:54] Start playing hard.
[00:02:56] Go do things that you want to do.
[00:02:58] I love playing snooker.
[00:02:59] I've just had this fascination for snooker.
[00:03:01] So I've been meaning to get myself a really nice snooker key for some time.
[00:03:04] And it's not a lot of money.
[00:03:06] But there was always a reason for me not to buy that.
[00:03:08] I've got to do this.
[00:03:09] I've got to do that.
[00:03:09] It was never a priority.
[00:03:11] But you've got to set priorities for yourself.
[00:03:13] Otherwise, what's the point, right?
[00:03:14] What's the point in having a business?
[00:03:17] What's the point of having money in the account?
[00:03:18] What's the point working long hours, missing out on weekends, evenings, when you can't do things for yourself?
[00:03:24] I'm not, I don't even know what I'm trying to say.
[00:03:27] I'm not selfish, right?
[00:03:29] That's what I'm trying to say.
[00:03:31] When we try to do things for ourselves and we can start feeling selfish, we say, you know what?
[00:03:35] I should be doing this for my son, my daughter.
[00:03:37] I should be out spending time with them.
[00:03:39] But I don't think that's selfish at all when you spend time with yourself.
[00:03:42] Why not?
[00:03:42] Because we deserve our own downtime.
[00:03:45] We deserve to do the things that we want to do.
[00:03:48] Sometimes you might just want to go for a drive.
[00:03:50] Sometimes you might just want to take a little day out yourself.
[00:03:53] Go away shopping.
[00:03:54] Go for a walk.
[00:03:55] Go traveling for a day or two yourself.
[00:03:57] And there's nothing wrong with that.
[00:04:00] Why do we have so much attachment to guilt when it comes to doing something for ourselves?
[00:04:05] Because that's the way we've been conditioned.
[00:04:07] You know, always think about other people.
[00:04:09] I think about other people all the time.
[00:04:10] But I also think about my own self because I understand how important I am to myself.
[00:04:17] I'm an important person.
[00:04:18] You should see yourself as someone highly important.
[00:04:21] Your life is going by.
[00:04:23] Time just flies before you know it.
[00:04:25] You're like 60, 70, 80 years old.
[00:04:28] So you want to enjoy your time when you can.
[00:04:30] A lot of people wait to retire so they can travel, do all the good things, you know, live their dreams.
[00:04:36] But a lot of the time when people get to that age, their mobility slows down.
[00:04:40] And they're not really able to, like, be as active unless they've taken good care of themselves.
[00:04:45] And so it's really important that we live every single day like it's a last day.
[00:04:50] Now, you might say, well, that's a negative way to live.
[00:04:52] No, I don't think so.
[00:04:55] I've lost a lot of people over the years, a lot of friends, family.
[00:05:00] And a lot of them didn't know they're going to go.
[00:05:02] You know, so we've got to be like, I've had that experience myself.
[00:05:06] And when I had my wake up call in 2016, I'm like, you know what?
[00:05:10] I've got to start giving myself some more time.
[00:05:12] I've got to start doing things that make me happy.
[00:05:15] Yes, we want to make our families happy.
[00:05:16] Yes, we want to make our team happy.
[00:05:18] But if you're not happy yourself, you're not fulfilled yourself.
[00:05:22] You're going to be a very sad person deep down inside.
[00:05:24] You're going to be torn up with this horrible feeling.
[00:05:27] Right.
[00:05:27] You can start resenting things.
[00:05:28] You can start resenting yourself.
[00:05:31] Value yourself.
[00:05:32] What's so wrong with wanting to do something for yourself?
[00:05:35] Have you noticed when it comes to Christmas or birthdays, maybe you've got no problem treating
[00:05:41] other people.
[00:05:42] You'll spend a fortune on your kids, your partner, your brother, your sister, who else, your parents.
[00:05:46] But when it comes down to like, hey, what do I get myself?
[00:05:50] We play it down.
[00:05:51] Oh, I'm OK.
[00:05:52] As long as the kids are right.
[00:05:54] Yeah, the kids will be right.
[00:05:55] But what about you?
[00:05:56] So think about one thing that you want to achieve in your personal life for yourself.
[00:06:01] Is that going to be a new car?
[00:06:02] Is that going to be that handbag that you've always wanted?
[00:06:06] Something materialistic that maybe you want, maybe an experience.
[00:06:10] Why don't you set yourself a goal of getting that?
[00:06:12] Maybe you can have that right now.
[00:06:14] Maybe you've been dreaming about changing your car.
[00:06:17] But you haven't done it because you're always waiting for the right time.
[00:06:20] The time is never, ever going to be right.
[00:06:22] There's always going to be things that you want to do that you'll put up.
[00:06:26] Right now, I'm not going to reveal what I've just done.
[00:06:29] But I've just done something really, really cool that I've been working on for a little while.
[00:06:33] And I'm just in the final phases of doing the final touch-ups before I get something really nice.
[00:06:39] Is it a car?
[00:06:40] Is it a home?
[00:06:40] Is it a plane?
[00:06:42] What is it?
[00:06:42] I ain't telling you.
[00:06:43] But you'll find out in due course.
[00:06:45] Now, this was a big goal of mine that I had since I was a child.
[00:06:48] And I'm about to fulfill that goal now.
[00:06:51] Why wait, right?
[00:06:52] Why wait another five or ten years?
[00:06:54] I like to speed things up and compress time and start to get things done in a lot faster way.
[00:07:01] Shrink that time down.
[00:07:03] I want you to stretch yourself this year.
[00:07:05] New Year's approaching, right?
[00:07:07] And I want you to set yourself some big monster goals where it excites you.
[00:07:12] It scares you.
[00:07:13] You don't know how you're going to get there.
[00:07:15] But you say to yourself, you know what?
[00:07:17] I'm going to give myself a window of 12 months.
[00:07:20] And I'm going to break that down into like a monthly goal.
[00:07:23] So set yourself like 12 goals each month.
[00:07:25] This might be a financial goal that will give you the ability to purchase what it is that you want to purchase.
[00:07:31] So let's say your goal is to earn, I don't know, 25,000 bucks.
[00:07:35] It's not a lot of money, right?
[00:07:36] 25,000 bucks.
[00:07:37] How can you get that 25,000 bucks?
[00:07:39] And what do you have as a reward of attaining that 25,000 or 50,000 or 100,000?
[00:07:45] So think of what you want.
[00:07:47] Say, right, let me go.
[00:07:49] Let's do some window shopping.
[00:07:50] Go have a little window shop.
[00:07:51] Because I'm sure that you got into business because you wanted financial freedom, right?
[00:07:54] Don't just get into business because you just want to get a business.
[00:07:57] You get into business because you want to have more choices.
[00:07:59] I don't believe there's many people out there that didn't get into business to make more money.
[00:08:03] That's the whole objective of a business, right?
[00:08:05] It's to drive profit.
[00:08:07] Increase your cash flow with a richer life.
[00:08:11] So one thing that you're going to achieve in the next 12 months, get a pen and paper and write it down.
[00:08:16] Think about it.
[00:08:17] If you're not sure what you want, ask yourself a question.
[00:08:19] If I was at my goal right now, every single month, I had that money coming in consistently.
[00:08:25] What would I be doing?
[00:08:27] Would I still be living in the same neighborhood?
[00:08:29] How often would I take a vacation?
[00:08:32] Maybe, hey, this is a good one, right?
[00:08:34] Maybe you want to hire a cook to do all your cooking and nourishing food.
[00:08:38] Your private chef.
[00:08:39] Maybe that's a good one, right?
[00:08:40] That'd be so cool, right?
[00:08:41] Get yourself a private chef where they come in and buy all the ingredients or you order all the goodies and stuff.
[00:08:47] They give you a shopping list or they even go out and get the stuff themselves.
[00:08:50] And then they cook your meals every single day.
[00:08:53] So every single day, you're eating like you're on vacation.
[00:08:57] You know when you go on vacation, you eat differently, right?
[00:08:59] You might try some different food options.
[00:09:01] The menu's going to be different.
[00:09:02] Imagine having a chef at home who can cook you all sorts of cuisines.
[00:09:06] You know, whatever you want.
[00:09:07] Nothing's too much trouble.
[00:09:08] Nothing's too posh.
[00:09:09] And so you can be living that life every single freaking day.
[00:09:12] That'd be cool, right?
[00:09:14] Having someone to take care of.
[00:09:15] Not just when you go on holiday, right?
[00:09:16] You leave that little sign up on your door.
[00:09:18] You know the one where you get drunk and you turn up on the early hours and you say the do not disturb mode.
[00:09:23] You turn that around and it says, please clean the room.
[00:09:27] You know, room service, housekeeping.
[00:09:29] And then you go put it on somebody else's door.
[00:09:31] So they're walking on them doing some naughtiness right in the morning.
[00:09:33] Oh, sorry.
[00:09:34] How many times have you done that?
[00:09:35] But imagine, where's this even going?
[00:09:38] So imagine that you have someone who does your cleaning in your house for you every day.
[00:09:43] Not just when you're on holiday, they come and make your bed and leave you a fresh bit of toothpaste.
[00:09:48] Not a bit of toothpaste.
[00:09:48] Like a new toothpaste and new shampoos.
[00:09:51] Imagine you had someone who came in, cleaned your shower screen, made it all nice.
[00:09:55] All the tires are nice and polished.
[00:09:56] The bath is nice and clean.
[00:09:58] The whole house is dusted.
[00:10:00] You've got fresh towels.
[00:10:01] Your bed's been made.
[00:10:03] Nice, you know, crisp covers.
[00:10:05] Bed sheets is all like spotless, miraculous, right?
[00:10:09] Imagine what that would be like if you woke up to that every morning.
[00:10:11] You can just leave your house in a mess.
[00:10:13] You come back home and it's all taken care of.
[00:10:16] Ever thought of that?
[00:10:18] That doesn't have to be a one-time thing when you go on holiday.
[00:10:21] This could be...
[00:10:22] People live that life every single day.
[00:10:24] There's people out there with all sorts of money that buy back time.
[00:10:28] They don't enjoy doing their gardening.
[00:10:30] So they've got their landscape gardener comes in maybe once a week and they tidy up all the hedges and all the edges and all the grass is nice and neat.
[00:10:38] All the leaves are brushed up.
[00:10:39] And your house is always looking bang, bang on.
[00:10:42] So what about that?
[00:10:43] What about having a driver?
[00:10:45] Can you imagine being driven around?
[00:10:47] Maybe you can get yourself a nice Rolls Royce.
[00:10:49] Maybe that'd be a great goal, right?
[00:10:52] Having yourself a nice goal where you have someone driving you around.
[00:10:55] You have a beautiful car, right?
[00:10:57] It's got so many tax benefits to that as well, right?
[00:10:59] So you can get a car and take the tax breaks and have a driver and be taking around shopping, dropping the kids off.
[00:11:09] You're on a night out with your partner.
[00:11:11] You go out to a nice restaurant.
[00:11:13] The car's out there waiting for you.
[00:11:14] You see this happening in big cities, right?
[00:11:16] You see when you go into big cities and you see the driver there.
[00:11:20] He's parked up waiting.
[00:11:21] The chauffeur's in his black suit looking smart.
[00:11:25] His clients come out, opens the door, lets them in, closes the door, puts the shopping in the boot or the trunk, whatever you want to call it.
[00:11:33] That'd be kind of cool, right?
[00:11:35] So think about what life would be like that.
[00:11:37] I've actually got some friends that actually do that.
[00:11:39] I haven't done that myself right now, but that's something I'm considering.
[00:11:42] Would I enjoy that?
[00:11:44] That'd be fun, right?
[00:11:46] Yeah, that would be so much fun.
[00:11:48] Having a private chef.
[00:11:49] Wow.
[00:11:51] Even like when you go on holiday, you fly private.
[00:11:54] The car goes up to the runway.
[00:11:56] You know, hop out, hop on out.
[00:11:59] The plane takes off.
[00:12:00] You don't got to go through check and security and all that kind of stuff.
[00:12:02] You're just there on the plane getting there quicker.
[00:12:05] Same thing at the other side.
[00:12:06] So once you start dreaming about these type of lives, there's nothing wrong with dreaming like that.
[00:12:11] A lot of time what happens is people get put off because of the money, how much it's going to cost and all that kind of stuff.
[00:12:17] If you don't dream, if you don't stir up emotion, you're going to stay flat because that causes you to be inspired.
[00:12:25] That causes you to like start thinking differently.
[00:12:28] And when you start thinking differently, you get different ideas, right?
[00:12:31] Very simple.
[00:12:32] And when you get different ideas, you build that up with like an action.
[00:12:35] You back out with action.
[00:12:37] And you'll start to investigate different areas that you can grow in.
[00:12:41] I'm doing this all the time now.
[00:12:42] The way I think now has changed drastically because I'm thinking about, right, how can I think bigger?
[00:12:48] Mindy, how does thinking bigger?
[00:12:50] How can I get on TV?
[00:12:53] That's been one.
[00:12:54] And funny enough, yesterday we got an email from someone asking me if I want to be a part of a TV series.
[00:13:01] Second time it's happened now.
[00:13:02] So like it's been one of my goals to have a TV show and it's starting to happen.
[00:13:05] We just weren't waiting for that right one to come in.
[00:13:07] So because I dreamt about TV, being on TV, having a show, doing some TV work, I'm taking the actions around that.
[00:13:16] And now I'm manifesting these things to me.
[00:13:18] And it's got to be the right thing, right?
[00:13:19] Because you can get opportunities.
[00:13:21] You can ask for something.
[00:13:21] And sometimes it's not right and you still go for it.
[00:13:24] So I know exactly what I want.
[00:13:26] And we're getting closer and closer to the objective that I want to accomplish from this TV work.
[00:13:31] And I think it's great for your brand as well.
[00:13:33] Imagine if you could be on TV.
[00:13:34] Imagine the amount of credibility that will give you.
[00:13:37] That'd be cool, right?
[00:13:39] Best bit of advertising, you're not even paying for it.
[00:13:41] And it just builds up your personal brand, your profile.
[00:13:45] So this is interesting, right?
[00:13:47] Don't just work for the sake of working because then it becomes a bore.
[00:13:50] You're never satisfied because you're not doing the things that inspire you and that you enjoy.
[00:13:56] And that's what I'm trying to tell a lot of my clients right now.
[00:13:59] There's things that you want.
[00:14:00] Go out and do them.
[00:14:01] Don't wait around.
[00:14:03] Make it happen.
[00:14:04] What's one thing that you can do today maybe?
[00:14:05] You've got the resources there, the finances there, but you've just been putting it off.
[00:14:09] You haven't made a decision that you want to do that, even though you talk about that.
[00:14:12] So why not go out and do that today?
[00:14:15] Think of one thing.
[00:14:16] I want you to think of one thing that you would love to do.
[00:14:19] Now, it doesn't have to cost you a million bucks.
[00:14:20] It could be an experience that might cost you five or ten thousand, but you've been wanting to do that for so long.
[00:14:26] Whatever that is, maybe you've got the money, but you just want to go on a track day.
[00:14:29] You want to drive a nice sports car like a Lamborghini or a Ferrari around a track, racetrack, and you never got around to do it.
[00:14:36] And you've always wanted to do it.
[00:14:38] Just go out and flip and do it.
[00:14:40] Take some action.
[00:14:41] Let's start to take some bold action and start to enjoy the experience of life and all the wonders that finance money has to offer for you.
[00:14:49] Because we need money, right?
[00:14:51] We can't buy experiences if you don't have the money.
[00:14:55] So money is really important.
[00:14:56] So you've got to use that money.
[00:14:58] Enjoy it.
[00:14:59] That's what it's there for.
[00:14:59] Because one thing I always heard Bob say was like, Bob Proctor, of course, that the money that you have, since you're only a custodian or that money, when you're gone from here, that money is going to belong to someone else.
[00:15:12] Your property, your house is going to belong to somebody else.
[00:15:15] That car.
[00:15:16] So enjoy it while you have it.
[00:15:18] Okay?
[00:15:18] Don't wait until the time to be too late.
[00:15:21] Life is too short.
[00:15:22] So go out and do that.
[00:15:23] Make it happen today.
[00:15:24] Right?
[00:15:24] Just one experience that I want you to do.
[00:15:26] Right?
[00:15:26] Otherwise, there's no point in having a business if you're not going to reap the rewards.
[00:15:30] Don't just give it to your family for them to enjoy.
[00:15:33] You enjoy it too.
[00:15:34] Okay?
[00:15:34] So I hope you take some action on this and you get some satisfaction out of rewarding yourself with the amazing work that you're doing.
[00:15:41] So keep on pushing yourself every single day.
[00:15:43] Go stretch yourself.
[00:15:44] Set yourself some 30-day goals and experience the result of the labors of your fruits, right?
[00:15:52] Or fruits of your labor, whichever one it is, right?
[00:15:54] So fruits of your labor.
[00:15:55] That's it.
[00:15:56] That sounds more right.
[00:15:56] Okay?
[00:15:57] So listen, this is me checking out and I'll see you on the next one.
[00:16:00] Take care.
